    Unwanted Myths

This chapter deals with some baseless, but well articulated, assumptions and notions to fool others and or self, with attempted humour in presentation.

I answered some of these myths in late 1990 and got convinced of my analysis with invention of Swapna. Now in 2008, I can only say that many are undesirable trashes. For the web, I introduced 'hair FAQ' and expanded it gradually. Some of the contents of this chapter is covered in hairfaq as well

Needed new breeze of Excuses for the New Millennium

It is hoped that the reading would help one to deal with Myths that may get invented in future.

This is necessary because we have just stepped  into the new millennium and should make room for a fresh breeze of excuses. They would be Modern, Scientific sounding and Exciting excuses.

How long can we stick with the old stale ones ?  The words like Heredity would be substituted with Genes, Stress with Status Aspirations,  Acidity with Ionic Imbalances, etc

Tension is my problem for hair loss

It sounds impressive to claim Tension, Hyper Tension, Pressure of Work, Occupational Constraints etc as the causes for premature Hair Loss.

In Reality, Tension is ever present like Mosquitoes. The child is tense with his performance and the parental expectations. The Adult is tense about his Career prospects. The one with a well paid job is tense to retain that. He becomes hyper tense after he gets something more.

Greed is  present in the World despite Lord Buddha's teachings
It is more nakedly practised now all over the World

Tension is Universal, ever present and unavoidable.  If we assume that Tension leads to Hair loss, logically it follows that others with hairy heads, have no Tension. Such is not the case. The hairy headed persons are not tension free as is superficially assumed. Many are married too.

There is no Historical or Scientific Proof as yet, that once a person looses the hair, the Tensions and the Hyper tensions fly over the roof or vice versa

The bitter half is the cause !  Not many dare to say that !

The Man who lived to write War and Peace, Tolstoy, was not Bald. Abraham Lincoln had a miserable home front. Yet these two wiped them off, on their  beards and roamed with, hairy heads.

In the West, 30% of the marriages end in divorces. The separated individuals do not go Bald. [ nor do they regain the lost hair ! ]

Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamins: The last Vitamin to be synthetically made / isolated was in 1952 or so. As of 1999, we can produce any Vitamin synthetically to the extent we want. The deficiency symptoms of a particular vitamin can be checked by an Allopathic Doctor, verified with diagnostic tests and corrective steps be taken to cover the deficiency. Has it worked ?  No !

At times, some company or the other, advertises loudly that Vitamin E is essential for the welfare of the hair and their oil contains Million times more Vitamin E than water. Vitamin is good for the skin is known. Rest is unwanted, high decibel noises.

Skin Vitamin: All vitamins are essential for the skin is a sensible approach, as it is the cover for the body and without it, we cannot exist. Many companies have blared like donkeys that Vitamin A, E and what have you, as the skin vitamin. There is no proof or basis that particular vitamin is only relevant and others are not. Vitamin D / D3 is made by the Skin with Sunlight. So this is critical for the skin

Minerals: Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorus, Manganese, Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Zinc etc, are the common Minerals, available on Earth since ages.

Homeopathy relies heavily on Minerals for its treatment procedure. And we have bald homeopathic Doctors as wellMinerals are more critical for the body or have curative powers much more than others is not acceptable to me.

But if we do lack the metals and non metals discovered in 20th Century, like Uranium, Plutonium, Curium or the ones with Atomic number past 110 for the welfare of the hair, I am ignorant

[ One part of Mineral is diluted 100000 or 1000,000 times with Sugar. You can get with proper food. Secondly, excess of one mineral can affect another. Shortage of one, can undermine another mineral's role. It all sounds too complicated and without proper analysis, reaching a conclusion can be whimsical notion than a knowledgeable assessment. I tried some of the beneficial tissue salts on my head. There was no meaningful impact ]

Protein Devotees ?

Proteins are converted to  Amino Acids inside the body. The Amino Acids are made of Poly Peptides [Large multiple units]. The Polypeptides have to be broken down to Peptides.

The Body / digestive system produces the requisite Enzymes to ferment / react with  the Proteins and break them up in a way acceptable for digestion. These Enzymes, I think, are available only in the Digestive Tract / Liver and not on the Scalp.

So even if we spray the hair with Protein / Keratin, nothing much can be achieved except extra labour of washing the hair with Shampoo, Conditioners in addition to waste of Time and Money

Hail Keratin

Keratin contains fairly high proportion of several Amino Acids - especially, Cystine, Arginine and Serine. It is used in those Tablet Coatings where the tablet has to Dissolve only in the Intestines. [ It does not become soluble before that ] How can Keratin based / treatment Shampoo help on the scalp ?

This protein is thrown out via the hair and the nails, as it is unwanted inside the body. The intestine / body makes this protein. Not the Scalp. So if one has proper nails, body can make the softer protein for the hair as well. No special diet needed. For Swapna Users, no diet changes have been suggested in the last 13 years.

Market Proof: Colgate sold Keratin containing Optima Shampoo in India. You can check with the users

Hairloss is due to Water

'The water is bad, which is why I have had excess Hair Loss'. The Salty Ahmedabad Water is bad for the Hair' etc are excuses that I have heard.

Answer Wash it off. Water should affect the Digestive System of an individual first. If it has not, it cannot selectively pick and affect, just the hair at the top. The salts of calcium, magnesium or manganese, which may be present in normal hard water, do not affect the hair. The reason could lie elsewhere.

If water is the cause, all the persons living in a family, street, locality etc should suffer from Hair Loss problems simultaneously. They do not. So never build on this myth and neglect. If a person suffered Hair Loss due to the salty / hard  water, say of Ahmedabad, if he shifts to another town, city, etc for education, employment or other reasons, the Hair Loss should stop with change of water. It does not. It continues.

Let me narrate one funny example of shifting the Blame. One Person, let us call him Anil, while requesting me for the second supply of Swapna in 1994, told me that he lost much of his hair due to Ahmedabad Water. I requested him to look at his father who was about 10 feet away from us, and then repeat that excuse. His father, aged around 70, did have good hair density even at that age. Anil then realised the absurdity of his 'reasoning'

[ By Water, I mean plain simple water that we can safely drink. Not Polluted Water, Dye mixed water of Chemical Companies, Effluents of Tanneries  etc. In Pollution Cases, for the benefit of one or a few, the Health and Safety of many innocent are compromised with the connivance and or negligence of the Regulatory Bodies. They are a shade worse than Murderers, who only kill selected person or persons.]

There are no suitable products for my  Sensitive and Delicate Skin and Hair

Sensitivity:  Some Women would like to portray that their skins are more sensitive than others. The Cosmetic Companies / Consumer / Advertising companies feed their egos to pinch their purses.

This imbibed or cultivated " Weakness"  is exploited by many Cosmetic Companies. They come up with fanciful adjectives like Extra, Super, Delicate, Soft etc to perpetuate these arbitrary differentiations. And they sell products for each sector.

Normally every part of the Human Body is Sensitive till death and that is true for all. If there is a doubt, please take a pin and prick a  less sensitive area. Confuse not sensitivity with pain bearing capacity.

The Donkey is as sensitive as we are. Prick it from the back and you may land with a fracture. The Thick skinned animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Rhinos etc are all sensitive to the touch. Otherwise they would have extinguished long back.

If only the skin can be Desensitized, the Indian Population can comfortably be brought down. Soothingly  Dry, Just Semi Dry, Moderately  Dry, Slightly oily, Unfairly Oily, Disgustingly Oily or Sensitive  etc are superfluous non functional classifications. These are not medical classifications

Women whose household income is less than Rs 20000 per month, normally do not face the above problems unless they wish to climb up the Social Ladder too fast. Hair loss has nothing to do with this Dramatised Sensitivity for there is no scientific co-relation

Balanced diet is irrelevant in most cases for hairloss

It is a very high sounding and modern term having status value, if any. Perhaps the  Astronauts have the balanced diet when they go out on space.

It is an undefined and non functional term, used loosely to impress others. If your parents and grandparents lived / are living  with the diet that you now use, it is a balanced diet by all counts. They have lived for years with that diet. But for them, you would not be in this planet. There is no medical finding that diet improves the hair condition or that some sufferers gained with 'balanced diet'

Mother In Laws - sound excuse

This is not a lovable section anywhere in the World. Let us accept that unpleasant fact squarely. If only the blame could be shifted to them, would not the World become a better place to live in?

5 College going Girls have used Swapna to reduce their Hair Loss and Dandruff problems. They are not married. So even Mother-in-Laws are not a cause. Sorry to have raised your hopes and let you down.

These well looked after adolescents should theoretically be happy and tension free. They have plenty of time to relax with no major responsibilities. On top of it, they are healthy and in the growing phase of life. They too loose hair ? So however much all would love  to shift the blame to mother in law, it is just not on

Conditioners - one more extra product to sell in addition to Shampoo !

The Cosmetologists / beauty consultants suggest the use of ' Conditioner ' after shampooing. Think about it calmly. Two wrongs do not add up to a 'Positive'

Why a Conditioner in the first place ? There is admittance / implication that Shampoo may have done something more than what it ought to do ?

The Multinational Pharmaceutical Companies do not make the world famous, most popular or effective Shampoos or Conditioners.  Why ?

Here you have a Medical Problem and everyone other than the Medical profession is more vocal and active. What do you put back with a conditioner ? A bit of Oil and lot of baseless Hopes ! Does it "condition" to make the hair stand up, comb down easily, stick to the Scalp for 72 hours without any fall, make it sparkle to dull the neighbour's newly bought diamond necklace or what ?

2 wheelers  leads to  Hair Loss

The Air should affect the Respiratory System first.  If it has not / does not, Polluted air is not the reason for Hair Loss.

' Because I drive  a  2 Wheeler, the force of the Air makes me loose more'.

The wind force also does not play a negative role. Not all the persons living near the Sea shores have Thin Heads. [ How I wish that this is true and I could buy a flat in Marine Drive, Mumbai at very cheap rates.]  There the wind force is more.

How can the Air affect selectively the city living individuals ?  If we look around, not all the 2 wheeler drivers suffer from hair loss. The air hits them hard at times from all sides because of the vacuum created by the forward thrust of the vehicle. Hairy Heads do live along with the thinning headed persons

Warming Oil - pay more to touch the nose the other way

A Warm oil has reduced viscosity. A thinner oil can penetrate better. So gently warming up an oil prior to application on the body is better than wrapping around a few towels to generate that heat

Undernourishment

1]      While watching the T.V.,  let us have a relook at the Rawandas, Somalians etc who flee from one place to another due to some conflict. They are all undernourished poor people. Most of them  have bulged out Stomachs, due to Acidity. They are not Bald as a group.

2]       Let us have a close look at the persons living in Dharavi, Asia's largest Slum or such other slums in your town. These poor people do certainly face unhygienic living conditions and malnutrition / under nutrition. They are not Bald as a group.

The biggest slum in the World, Harlem, is in New York, the World's finance Capital. Are they Bald as a group ?  No.

3]      Bihar, despite its considerable mineral and natural wealth, is a plundered and shabbily run state. The eastern Uttar Pradesh region also has many poor people. Their pictures also come on TV. Watch them. They do have hairy heads. Now that Laloo has gone, things might change

Unlike the British Policy of "Divide and Rule ", the Indian Politicians  have shamelessly perfected the gory Science of  "Dissect and Loot".  Not even a significant portion of these Dradhira Narayans  are Bald compared to the affluent and the articulate section. So  under Nutrition is not the cause for Hair Loss. Why not a Quota for OBCs and Minorties amongst Baldies ? Check with Arjun Singh

The Universal Defensive Shield

The sense of  Sight, Smell, Hearing, Taste and Touch is common for Mankind and the Animal World. The major factor of difference between the two species is " Rationalization ". To suit our ego, we call it Brain, Analytical power, Planning ability and such other impressive, high sounding phrases.

The other side is that, because of this Rationalizing ability, we are equipped to offer all sorts of reasons and excuses to cover up or explain away the unwanted and undesirable things. To cut short,

Mankind is the only species that has the ability to "Rationalise even its Irrational Acts'

My goal / Request: ............................Making Swapna Free to the World

Swapna Hair Enricher, as a Hairsaver, can help Millions across the World to retain the God given natural and free, anti aging Cosmetic aid, the Hair, for a long period of their lives - say even after 60 years. The site elaborates that with sufficient proofs / supportive details.

I am looking for a Philanthropist who can buy Swapna's Technology and make it Free to the World. I lack the finance to retire peacefully now. One cannot preach philosophy on an empty stomach.

But I still hate the thought of selling the Technology to Companies, who can milk the public dry. Mad is the epithet that I earn frequently for this approach, now that I have closed my earlier main business. I can wait for one more year. Refer Swapna or Cocolite  and think what you can do to meet the above goal
