Unleashing the Power of Swapna - Making it Free Swapna Cocolite |
| Hair FAQ 2 |
| The Supreme Court of India had ruled that | ||
| " the object is to bring honesty and truth in the relationship between the manufacturer and the consumer" and held that " if the general impression conveyed is false, the most punctilious and scrupulous accuracy in immaterial minutiae will not render the representations true." [in simple terms, a lie is a lie, however decorated or whoever says it] | ||

| Epic - Thought for Haircare | ||
|
Draupadi swore by her hair and kept that promise after 13 long years.
How many, after age 30, can do that today despite the plethora of products and atrocious,
never ending claims on TV A poet does not write in a vacuum. So it means that the ancient Indians knew much more about hair preservation than Indians of 20th or 21st Century. Today, I see around the slavish, white knows best, imitative mentality to import the latest Shampoo or even shampoo bottle cap But for the hair, Mahabharata may have taken a different course. Alexander Pope would not have written 'Rape of the Lock' - only epic written about a trifle ! A mock epic - so what ? |
||
| Fairness Creams - High Blown, unethical Open Swindle | ||
| refer fair n lovely " if the general impression conveyed is false..............." | ||
| refer also fairness creams anti marks cream | ||
| Glycerin / Moisturising agent and Fatty Acid | ||
| Vegetable Oils can be simplified as 'Glycerated Fatty Acids'. If 5kgs of Coconut Oil is reacted with one kg of Caustic Potash, the reaction products are Potassium salt of Fatty Acid, normally called Toilet Soap and Glycerin / Moisturing Agent. In the reaction, 5 out of 6 kgs is fatty matter / oil. Refer Toilet Soaps to check how Soap is weakened with cheap materials |
||
| Gray / Grey Hair / Black colouring | ||
| There
is no medical remedy. Once the hair has been
coloured, gaining back the black colour, is just
about impossible. External colouring is artificial and temporary
-with undesirable short and long term side effects. Dyeing normally speeds up greying and excess
itching as per my interactions with hairloss sufferers between 1993 to 1998. Dry hair style leads to premature greying Dry Hair Style, Free Combing aid |
||
| Hair Fall Numbers | ||
Baseless Notion: Printed and publicised as if it is a proven Medical Fact |
||
| Umpteen persons connected with the haircare
Industry loudmouth in print as well that hair fall of 100 / day is normal.
Why 100 ? Why not even 200 or 500 so long as we can get that
number back on our head on the next morning, who cares ? This baseless number
of 100
misleads some In all the Medical books and Journals that I could lay hands upon, I did not find any justification, support or basis for this figure of 100. The world pays today for someone's innovative bluff overblown across the World by many others blindly and without thought or verification Be careful. Hair Fall over 25 per day is a sign for Caution and over 50 per day is cause for Medical attention. 100 per day means 36500 per year. On the head we have only about 120000 hair. 3 years - that is all, the slate will be clean. |
||
| Hair Breaks ? No in perhaps over 99.9% cases It is a blatant, Shameless lie to pinch your purse | ||
| Hair Breaking is
an unethical bluff to scare
the public and make them buy even third rate products. A hair can carry a weight
of 80 gms and is a bit elastic too. With 85 gms, it stretches and around 90 gms, it
breaks [ tested in 1993 ] Given its thickness, it is stronger
than Steel.
It is not as brittle as they make you fear. One Australian pulled a 8000 kgs truck with his hair some years back to get into Guinness Book of Records. That is a demonstrated fact on the TV. So fall not for the umpteen baseless claims - why pay to other bluffers ? Are we not paying enough to politicians in power ? A New hair spurts as a branch of the old hair and becomes a new one. The old one falls. The new hair starts from the old root only. Got it ? Hair break, had it really happened, all barbers would have left their trade long back. The trade continues. So hair break is a baseless claim to scare you |
||
| Hairloss Control | ||
| Swapna, my invention, is a proven remedy. Refer to swapna section. | ||
Products that failed to deliver and nearly vanished from Indian Market |
||
| Failed Foreign Companies Products: Pure Silverkrin [ Beechem - now Smithkline Beechem ], K5 [ Germany ], Foltene, Multigain - Minoxidil preparation, Multigain of Torrent Pharmaceuticals [ minoxidil preparation under license ] | ||
| British Browsers: In Silverkrin / silverkrin hair dresser, the oil part and the aqueous [water] part will be distinct. The contents had to be shaken and used. I used them, K5 as well as Selsun / Clinic, between 1969 to 1980, to get some control on hairloss and dandruff. None of the product gave me any benefit. My money and hair went down the drain. I was bald by 1980. After that, I only used Keo Karpin for hair grooming / oil and Tata Oil Mills' plain Coconut Shampoo. There was nothing to loose or save by that stage | ||
| Failed / ineffective Indian Products: Clear
Comb, Dabur's Samura range of 'hair oil' [ entire range withdrawn ], Shahnaz
Hussain's hairloss control lotion / oil, and Sanjivini. To these, I think
we can add 'Anoop', and Saini Herbal perhaps. Anoop was freely popularised
by Illustrated Weekly of India [ now defunct ] of Times of India group
and is now sold by Godrej [ The Group never issued a retraction statement -
media ethics ] The above details should help one to realise that there is hardly any effective product in India or abroad though every 3rd advertisement in Indian TV is for Hair or Skin product |
||
| Hairloss Causes | ||
| There can be some medical causes like heredity, cancer, high fever, old age etc. A good / family Doctor of Allopathy can make a meaningful guess and suggest a course. But the solution is not easy as one notices many bald Allopathic Doctors as well, in the Society | ||
| Cosmetic causes: Reason for many is the need for an appealing excuse to sell a product | ||
| self
inflicted causes - Dry hair style, Excess
Shampooing / low ethical and formulation standards of many shampoos, needless
casualness in the initial stage of excess hairloss / jumping from one remedy to
another without proper assessment my views reinforced by my contact with many hairloss sufferers over the years and almost nil or scanty or questionable scientific support for many advertised claims / blatant lies too, at times |
||
| Hair Feed / nutrients for hair retention | ||
| None in the public domain as of
now. Hair, outside of the skin, is a dead piece. So you cannot really feed it. Some company or the other routinely bluff that their products contain that special nourishing Vitamin, Protein, Minerals and what have you. So Feeding the hair with eggs, almonds, Proteins as if anyone knows the right one out of many, or other items loud mouthed by some to suck your money is normally, a high sounding, baseless lie. |
||
| Hair forums - want new breeze of fancy and latest Excuses ? | ||
| It is better to avoid them totally and refer to your family Doctor. refer to the headline note above | ||
| Hair News | ||
| In my 65 years, the only meaningful and sensible Hair news was in 2001 - a lady in Ahmedabad has hair touching her feet. In her family, all have long hair. She never uses Shampoo | ||
| Hereditary loss | ||
| Prevention is better than Cure Invention 5000 years hairloss | ||
| Henna - Mehendi | ||
| If
it turns black and permanently sticks, will a normal Indian woman use it
on hand - or for auspicious occasions ? Does natural Mehendi become black on the hand ? If not, you have the answer. Only Henna and Turmeric can colour / stick to the skin. Henna / Mehendi is of Orangish Red colour. Eventually, it will turn the hair colour to orange. Next to Indonesia, India is 2nd country with maximum Muslim population. Muslims traditionally use Mehendi for anti itch and hair cooling properties. You can come across some Muslims, around 40, with Orange - Black mixed Beards and head hair. Now others have also joined them Kali Mehendi / Black Henna: Open Fraud as it is a botanical impossibility |
||
| Keratin / Protein deficiency - not relevant for many | ||
| Nail contains harder
keratin and softer keratin is in Hair. If the nail growth is ok, the body
would make the softer keratin for the hair as well, without much problem.
hairbasics1
and
Hairbasics2 Colgate sold in 1997 keratin based optima shampoo - source Business India. It is not No 1 Shampoo in India - Keratin did not work for them or for the Indian buyers to make it famous Another Proof: Almost animals [ excepting Fox from which the Greek used the term Alopecia ] be it the street rats, cats and dogs or the ones shown in Discovery Channel, be it from any of the 7 continents, retain their hair. Why ? they are not brainwashed by absurd claims on TV. Thank God for that. But for that, as they outnumber humans, we have to stand in queue even for a third rate shampoo |
||
| Moisturiser / Mositurising Lotions / Creams are money minting formulations of questionable value | ||
| moist | adj: damp, humid, rainy, watery.. verb to moisten | |
| Lever's English | This can be different from British or American English, as deemed convenient by Hindustan Unilever. To understand them, one has to refer to their ' new definitions' | |
| Vaseline | Vaseline is the brand name for the Petroleum Jelly sold by Hindustan Unilever | |
| what is Petroleum Jelly ?
refer also Moisturising Lotions
Better Option Safe and Economical |
In petroleum distillation, the heavy oils, boiling point in
300 to 350 degrees centigrade range, come out before the end product, Tar /
Damar, which is used for surfacing the roads. These oils are mixed with anti knock compounds and sold as Lubricating Oils for use in Autos by the Petrol / Oil Marketing Companies. These are normal aliphatic hydrocarbon products, having only Carbon and Hydrogen in their structure Paraffin wax is also an aliphatic hydrocarbon. It is used in making ordinary candles. If the Paraffin was is melted and dispersed in the heavy oil mentioned above, it becomes a jelly - semi solid Just Hydrogen and Carbon are not sufficient for the hair - or for the fish which die in Millions when an oil tanker sinks in the sea, once a while [csp] So Petroleum Jelly is just not the right product for the skin, is my view since 1991.Refer the complaint against Johnson & Johnson - Liquid paraffin Oil Vegetable Oils like Coconut, Till / Olive, Sunflower contain Oxygen in their structure besides Carbon and Hydrogen. They are safe and edible. They are available at home. Use them - it would be better than petroleum jellies. Add a bit of Talcum powder and water if you want Scent and easy spread. |

| Newspapers / Media | ||
| Illustrated Weekly of India, now defunct and belonging to Times of India group,
gave undue excess publicity to Anoop Hair Oil without proper verification.
Times is perhaps the largest selling English newspaper in India. Did the Times Group ever
issued a retraction / clarification statement ? No. Who suffered ? The Public - Over 3 Millions, if you accept their circulation figures for 2007. refer media misguidance Invention of Swapna was provoked by the refusal of a sincere, ethical Chemist to sell me Anoop in 1990 - he told me that hardly 5 bottles sell per month compared to earlier 25-30 bottles and there are no repeat buyers - First Sales is the last Sales Some early swapna users between 1992 to 95 told me of their disappointing experiences with Anoop. Rajiv Gandhi, a rumoured early user of Anoop, eventually lost hair and chair.[ My fellow Snooker players offered to pay for my airfare in 1987 from Ahmedabad to Trivandrum and get a bottle of Anoop. ] |

| 'Daag Achey Hai' / Stain is good - Hindustan Lever's advertisement for Surf Detergent | ||
If stain is good, why the hell remove it ? 31-10-2008: Unproven / Over Claim: Surf could not even remove the Tea Stains as tried by me thrice. Ariel and Tide were no better. I made an oil based soap to lessen the stain last fortnight |
||
| Lever's Sunlight: Removing such stains was never a problem for me between 1954 to 1974 with Sunlight. It was an oil based soap and not a detergent based cleaner like surf, Ariel |
