| Dr Batras |
This page is unlikely to be edited again
This page has been divided into 2 on 28-1-2010, to cut the page / file size. The second part, linked only from here, deals with one of his printed advertisement - his vain attempt to pose himself as the sole champion of Homeopathy. The flaws in his own edited message, prepared perhaps by the advertising agency, make the piece a sickening joke. drbatras2 It has one information collected from the web about Dr Bakshi as well
| Beware of Batra | ||
| I get easily irritated and
annoyed with the nauseating advertisement messages / claims of Dr. Batra.
This page gives the reasons for forming such a view.
I hold the view that Dr. Batra is a loud mouthed sham, shallow medical practitioner. Better still, why not read just this sample below, close this page and do something else ? |

Losing Hair ? Blame it on DHT - Dr. Batra's advertisement, Times of India, Ahmedabad, 4-3-2009 |
||
| 'Did you know that over 90% of hair loss is due to hormone named as Dihydro-testosterone' | ||
| Bloomer | It is dihydroxy and not dihydro. [dht] Testosterone is the male hormone. It is clear that he has not studied Merck's site. DHT is a porous theory. refer dht | |
| Sickening |
To state 90% is height of
irresponsible, professional standard, if any. No one on Earth has
precise basis or proof, to quote such percentage. Medicine is
an inferential science and not a definitive science like
Mathematics or Physics. Quoting a percentage without detailed
and elaborate survey is not warranted.
Even Merck, the propagators of DHT theory, do not assert that 90% of hair loss is due to DHT. Their higher limit is below 50% Taking it further to Dr. Batra's backyard, why the hell he was ignorant till 4-3-2009, despite claiming to have 'largest homeopathic treatment centre' in India ? Mussolini did not want to hear the 21 other reasons of the Bishop. Should you ? awake |
|
|
Integrity ? |
From claiming Super speciality Homeopathy, he has now stooped to get behind the foot steps of Merck and peddle his expertise ! Batra's advertisements come on Wednesdays in Times of India and then, an article by him on Thursday issues - mutually convenient arrangement ? 80000 odd readers of Times can get sucked ! who bothers ? |
|
| Connection? | Dr. Batra is Homeopathist. His
son is a Trichologist, as I read somewhere in May 2009. So, it is my feeling
that interlinking of Homeopathy and Trichology is on, for the
last 3-4 years, for the future needs of the son. Why not ?
Is not Rahul Gandhi, great grandson of Nehru, a potential 'Prime Ministerial candidate ? |
|
| Reason 1 - The indirect admission ! Batra' advertisement - Times of India, 22-11-2008 | ||
| The latest advertisement does not
mention about Trichology, the gadgets and super speciality academic
qualification. The present claim is 'Homeopathy is about 74% more effective than Allopathy'. Any sincere Allopathy Doctor will tell you in private that Allopathy has no cure for hairloss. So this advertisement is meaningless like Bajaj Almond Oil's advertisement that their hair oil contains 300 times more Vitamin E compared to Coconut Oil - as if Vitamin E holds the solution for hairloss! Coconut oil hardly contains Vitamin E |
||
Reflect: The present advertisement of Nov 2008 ignores / dilutes the earlier advertisement claims which are stated below. Why ?
| Reason 2 - Self exposure ? | ||
| 'Hairloss can be effectively treated with
Dr.Batra's combination of Homeopathy and Trichology'. [ October 10, 2007
Advertisement in Times of India, Ahmedabad by Dr.Batra ] Without Trichology, Dr.Batra's homeopathic expertise was insufficient is the impression I get. So Homeopathy alone or he did not have the answer is a logical interpretation. Then what about the claims made between 1987 or so to 2007 ? You have to reflect |
||
| Reason 3 - the Lean on a much weaker Trichology ! | ||
|
What is Trichology ? A word coined to denote, supposedly the Science of Hair. Trichology borrows terms from Allopathy for the basic medical background. But the Tragedy is Allopathy does not have detailed research or answers to hairloss. Logically, Trichology has to be weak. The fact that anybody can get qualified, even with 12th standard education and by a postal course, says that Trichology is an imperfect, vague and loud mouthed treatment. You do not have to be a Doctor even. And can we trust such practice for a problem that has foxed different therapies ? So, if Dr Batra leans on Trichology, that raises questions and not answers or gives confidence ! |
||
| Reason 4 - emphasis on peripherals - Times of India, Ahmedabad 17-12-2005 | ||
| Dr.
Batra's advertisement mentions about Systematic Hair Analysis, Spirameter
and UV Analysis measurement. They have got the latest gadgets to solve
hairloss, skin problems and respiratory disorders. Perhaps in November,
they mentioned about Trichoscan. Trichologists have not solved the problem of hairloss or dandruff in London. So what can gadgets do ? If I have multiple rockets and launchers to reach the moon, does it mean anything to control / stopping hairloss - zero Trichology was practised in England even in 1985 or so. Elizabeth Steel mentions about that in her book. My letters, querying some aspects, sent to Trichologists Association or whatever, as noted from Ms Steel's book, came back to me undelivered twice between 1995 -97. |
||
| Reason 5 - hairloss treatment advertisements - Academic Qualification ? | ||
| The advertisement of Dr. Batra normally claims about 'super speciality homeopathy' treatment. As no University in India gives a 'super speciality degree' to anyone, the basic shout about his super qualification is unwarranted and could be a baseless claim. Why loud mouth something absurd ? | ||
| Reason 6 - One Consumer outfit had their doubts in 2002 | ||
| Around 2002, CERC, Ahmedabad referred to me some unethical / blown up claims of Dr. Batra and some others like him. Why should they have referred to me ? Unfortunately, CERC did not take up the matter further or did not bother to inform me. | ||
| Reason 7 - shallow, wayward answers | ||
| Please refer to the page on 'Acidity'. His views indicate that he may be showy without substance. | ||
| Reason 8 - the clincher | ||
| The provocation for putting out
this page was the advertisement in the next section -
drbatras2. The shallowness of the contents, proofs
for the claims, unwanted conclusions and the vain posture made clear to me that Dr Batra's messages sound shallow and pecuniary - neither establishes his expertise nor amplifies the benefits of Homeopathy - Advertisement Source: 26th September, 2005, Times of India Dr. Batra is projecting himself as the spokesperson as well as an authority on Homeopathy. He is not. That is evident from the ad message. Homeopathy can survive without Batra. Conveying in medical terms that homeopathy was found effective compared to placebo, he attempts to project his expertise to the lay public - and in the process, lowers Homeopathy ! Homeopathic Medicine: The medicines are normally diluted in Lactose [ milk sugar - sugar content in milk ]. Naturally, they would be sweet and liked by kids and pets |
